How I Built an Intelligent AI Agent to Automate WooCommerce (Using N8N)

First, I added a WooCommerce node to N8N.    This instructs the workflow to run whenever someone submits an order.    All you need is: 

  • Your WooCommerce store’s URL
  •  API keys (easily obtained in Woo settings).

Boom — now N8N listens to your orders in real-time.

Step 2: Retrieve Customer and Order Details

Next, I used the same WooCommerce node to capture client data such as 

  • Name.
  • Email
  • Telephone number
  • Product purchased.
  • Product category

This is super helpful for follow-ups later on.

Step 3: Send Data to Google Sheet

I included a Google Sheets node to keep all of the data in one location.  So now, whenever an order is placed, it is automatically saved in a nice spreadsheet – no more human entry.

Step 4: Wait 2-3 days (Delivery Buffer)c

I added a delay node to pause the workflow for a few days. That way, it gives time for the customer to receive the product before any follow-up.

Step 5: Send Follow-Up Email (Based on What They Bought)

Here’s the smart part: based on the product category, the workflow sends a custom email. For example:

  • If they bought skincare, they get beauty tips
  • If they bought a phone case, they get care instructions

And you can customize this any way you want.
